ARTICLE EXAMINES WHAT EFFECT BROKEN HOMES, FAMILY SIZE, AND SEX HAVE ON JUVENILE DELINQUENCY.
Abstract
FIFTY-FIVE FEMALES AND 127 MALE DELINQUENTS WERE STUDIED IN THE EXPERIMENT. THE DELINQUENTS TENDED TO COME FROM LARGE FAMILIES, INTACT AND BROKEN. LARGE FAMILY SIZE WAS MORE TYPICAL OF MALE THAT FEMALE DELINQUENTS. FEMALE DELINQUENTS TENDED TO COME FROM BROKEN FAMILIES MORE OFTEN THAN MALES. ACCORDING TO THE AUTHOR, THE NATIONAL TREND TOWARD SMALLER FAMILIES, AND THE INCREASE IN BROKEN HOMES MAY CONTRIBUTE TO THE INCREASE IN FEMALE DELINQUENCY....BS
