PRELIMINARY, PARTIAL ANALYSIS OF THE RESULTS OF A STUDY OF 132 JUVENILE DELINQUENTS 14 TO 17 YEARS OLD FOR WHOM THE MONTREAL SOCIAL WELFARE COURT ASSUMED RESPONSIBILITY BETWEEN SEPTEMBER 1972 AND JUNE 1973.
Abstract
THE SUTDY WAS BEING FINANCED BY THE MINISTRY OF SOCIAL AFFAIRS. IT WAS INTENDED TO COVER A TOTAL OF 500 JUVENILES EVENTUALLY. MORE THAN 90 PERCENT ADMITTED HAVING COMMITTED AT LEAST ONE OFFENSE, MOST OF THEM HAD COMMITTED DIFFERENT KINDS OF OFFENSES, THE MOST FREQUENT OFFENSES WERE REBELLIOUS AND CONTENTIOUS BEHAVIOR, AND 60 PERCENT WERE REPEATEDLY GUILTY OF THE MORE SERIOUS FORMS OF DELINQUENCY. THE PRESENCE OF NEUROTIC TENDENCIES WAS PERCEIVED IN 22.3 PERCENT OF THE JUVENILES. --IN FRENCH
