This study examined the demographic and psychological aspects of Internet child pornography offenders.
Abstract
Findings show that the child pornography downloaders were younger than other sexual delinquents but did not differ in average age from nonsexual delinquents. Internet child pornography offenders lived alone more often, were more frequently single, and rarely had children. Findings suggest that Internet sexual offenders lead relatively socially isolated lives, and that variables of age, being single, living alone, and not having children are associated to one another. The Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory-2 (MMPI-2) profile was found for Internet child pornography offenders compared to other sexual offenders. Data were collected from 134 male patients who received treatment in an outpatient forensic psychiatric department in the Netherlands from June 2001 to mid-April 2006. Figure and references
