FIRST OF A FOUR-VOLUME 1973 CRIME REDUCTION PLAN DESIGNED IN RESPONSE TO THE IMPACT CITIES MANDATE TO DESIGN AND DEVELOP A 'SPECIFIC CRIME' ANALYSIS CAPABILITY AT THE CITY LEVEL TO REDUCE CERTAIN CRIMES BY 5% IN TWO YEARS.
Abstract
THIS VOLUME PRESENTS THE MAJOR CRIME REDUCTION PROGRAM AREAS WHICH THE DENVER ANTI-CRIME COUNCIL SET FORTH AS GUIDELINES FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF SPECIFIC PROJECTS, AND THE RESOURCES NECESSARY TO ACHIEVE THE OBJECTIVES OF THOSE PROGRAMS. IT IS DIVIDED INTO THREE MAJOR SECTIONS: THE PROGRAM OBJECTIVES AND RESOURCES, EVALUATION PROCEDURES, AND PROJECT MONITORING. APPENDIX A SETS FORTH TABLES CONTAINING THE FREQUENCY OF REPORTED TARGET OFFENSES BY POLICE PRECINCT TO PROVIDE A STANDARD BASIS FOR THE OVERALL IMPACT PROGRAM EVALUATION. A STATEMENT OF GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR AFFIRMATIVE ACTION WITH REGARD TO PROJECT PERSONNEL PRACTICES APPEARS IN APPENDIX B AS A GUIDELINE FOR ALL GRANT APPLICANTS.
