This report describes the activities and operations of the Kentucky State Police and commemorates the fortieth anniversary of the force.
Abstract
The report describes the Operations Division which divides the State Police into three branches. The West Command and East Command are comprised of eight posts each, while the Drug Enforcement/Special Investigations Branch is comprised of an East and West Command and the Intelligence, Vehicle Investigation Sections, Hazardous Materials, and Canine units. The major criminal occurrences and arrests in each post are briefly described, and the Kentucky State Police criminal cases and arrests are charted. Statistical and narrative information on the investigations conducted by the Drug Enforcement branch are presented in detail. The report also outlines the programs of the Special Operations Section, Hazardous Devices Unit, Hazardous Materials Unit, Vehicle Investigation Section, and Asset Forfeiture Program. The second section of the report describes the functions of the Kentucky State Police Administrative Division including the Professional Standards Branch, Fiscal Affairs, Highway Safety Standards, Personnel, Public Affairs, and Employee Assistance. Finally, the Services Division is comprised of Information Services and Support Services.
