THE PRINCIPAL FEATURES OF THE NEW STRUCTURE ARE THE PLACEMENT OF A SOCIAL ADVISOR AND A SENIOR GUARD IN EACH MAJOR BLOCK AND KEEPING GUARD PERSONNEL WHERE THEY ARE RATHER THAN ROTATING THEM
Abstract
ASSIGNING GUARD PERSONNEL PERMANENTLY TO SPECIFIC BLOCKS WILL ENABLE THEM AND THE INMATES TO GET TO KNOW EACH OTHER BETTER, AND THEREFORE GET ALONG BETTER. PLACING THE SOCIAL ADVISERS AND SENIOR GUARDS WITHIN GHE BLOCKS WILL ENABLE THEM TO DO A BETTER JOB OF TAKING CARE OF THE INMATES' DAY-TO-DAY NEEDS. A SURVEY CONDUCTED AMONG INMATES AND STAFF PERSONNEL REVEALED THAT OPINION FAVORED THE NEW STRUCTURE, PARTICULARLY AMONG THE STAFF PERSONNEL. STATISTICS ARE PROVIDED ON THE RESULTS OF THE SURVEY. THE TEXT OF THE QUESTIONNAIRE USED IN THE SURVEY IS GIVEN IN AN APPENDIX. THE HISTORY OF STRUCTURAL ARRANGEMENTS AT THE KRAGSKOVHEDE PRISON IS DISCUSSED, AND ITS LAYOUT IS DESCRIVED, ILLUSTRATED BY DIAGRAMS. --IN DANISH
