Abstract
THE AREAS COVERED IN THE REPORTS INCLUDE VICTIM COMPENSATION IN NEW ZEALAND, GREAT BRITAIN, AND OTHER COMMON LAW COUNTRIES; SENTENCING IN THE AMERICAN CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM; AND PLEA BARGAINING IN THE US, ENGLAND, AND CANADA. OTHER TOPICS ADDRESSED ARE THE MODERNIZATION OF TRIAL SYSTEMS IN THE UNITED ARAB EMIRATES AND THE EAST CENTRAL STATE OF NIGERIA; THE PROVISION OF LEGAL AID SERVICES IN ALGERIA AND COLOMBIA; SMALL CLAIMS LITIGATION IN PUERTO RICO AND CANADA; MULTILINGUAL PROCEEDINGS IN THE US AND CANADA; JUVENILE JUSTICE IN GREAT BRITAIN; AND COURT ADMINISTRATION IN THE US.
