THE TELEPOL MODULAR RADIO TRANSMISSION AND INFORMATION SYSTEM WAS DEVELOPED TO TAKE CARE OF FREQUENTLY-OCCURRING STANDARD RADIO SIGNALS BETWEEN PATROL CARS AND CENTRAL POLICE RADIO STATIONS, THUS SAVING MUCH TIME ON THE AIR.
Abstract
THE SYSTEM HAS BEEN PUT INTO EFFECT IN BONN, NORTH RHINE WESTPHALIA, WEST GERMANY. THE APPARATUS INSTALLED IN POLICE PATROL CARS IN THE '1272 INFORMATION-PROVIDER', BY MEANS OF WHICH THE POLICEMEN USING THE VEHICLE CAN TRANSMIT STANDARD SIGNALS BY MERELY PUSHING BUTTONS RATHER THAN BY TALKING INTO A MICROPHONE. STANDARD SIGNALS ARE SUCH MESSAGES AS 'UNIT PATROLLING', 'UNIT ARRIVING AT DESTINATION', 'PERSONNEL LEAVING VEHICLE', ETC. A TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION, WITH PHOTOGRAPHS AND A SCHEMATIC DIAGRAM, EXPLAINING THE APPARATUS AND HOW IT WORKS, IS PROVIDED. --IN GERMAN
