This report presents an overview of the major activities of the United States Marshal Service (USMS) for the year ending September 30, 1985.
Abstract
Data from the 94 district offices form the basis of narrative summaries and charts on all USMS programs. A discussion of the role of the USMS in the Federal justice system accompanies discussions and statistics on enforcement operations, protection of the judiciary, efforts related to witness security, execution of court orders, prisoner receipt and processing, prisoner production and transportation, and budgetary and administrative activities. Appendixes list the stages in Federal criminal justice processing and a list of services provided by USMS to other Federal justice system components.
