THE DIRECTORY CONTAINS A LISTING AND DESCRIPTION OF ALL KNOWN LOCALLY AVAILABLE ACADEMIC DEGREE AND TRAINING PROGRAMS IN LAW ENFORCEMENT AND CRIMINAL JUSTICE AS OF APRIL 30, 1974.
Abstract
THE EMPHASIS OF THE DIRECTORY IS THREE-FOLD: ADVANCE DEGREE PROGRAMS AND COURSES FOR WHICH ACADEMIC CREDIT CAN BE EARNED; LEAA TRAINING GRANTS AWARDED BY THE STATE PLANNING AGENCIES IN MARYLAND, THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, AND VIRGINIA; AND OTHER TRAINING PROGRAMS CONDUCTED IN THE METROPOLITAN WASHINGTON AREA. HENCE, THE DIRECTORY IDENTIFIES ACADEMIC AND SPECIALIZED TRAINING PROGRAMS READILY AVAILABLE TO LAW ENFORCEMENT AND CRIMINAL JUSTICE PRACTITIONERS WHO DESIRE PROFESSIONAL ADVANCEMENT AND/OR IMPROVED JOB PERFORMANCE. THE PROGRAMS DESCRIBED ARE DIRECTED TOWARD PERSONNEL IN SUCH AREAS AS POLICE, PROBATION AND PAROLE, COURTS, CORRECTIONS, AND CRIMINAL JUSTICE PLANNING. (AUTHOR ABSTRACT)...EB
