THE DIRECTORY CITES SEVERAL NATIONWIDE AND REGIONAL SURVEYS ON THE NUTRITIONAL STATUS OF AMERICANS AND LISTS A NUMBER OF U.S. DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE FOOD ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS INCLUDING SCHOOL LUNCH PROGRAMS, SUMMER FOOD PROGRAMS FOR SCHOOL-AGED CHILDREN, AND SUPPLEMENTAL FOOD PROGRAMS FOR WOMEN, INFANTS, AND CHILDREN (WIC).
