Abstract
Disorderly conduct violations include (1) engaging in dissolute or lewd behavior in public, (2) engaging in prostitution, (3) begging or soliciting, (4) loitering to engage in lascivious conduct, (5) refusal to identify one's self to a police officer under certain conditions, (6) public intoxication, (7) prowling at night on private property without legal or visible business with the owner, (8) peering into the windows of inhabited buildings, and (9) occupying buildings or public places without the consent of owners for purposes of lodging. The basic intent of disorderly conduct laws is the apprehension and removal from public view of suspicious persons or persons whose behavior is not acceptable to the majority of society. These laws also prevent more serious crimes such as rape, burglary, and robbery, and protect property during owners' absences. The participant workbook includes a unit overview, supplemental activities, and test questions. An instructor's answer key is also provided.
