STUDY OF THE CHEMICAL MECHANISMS UNDERLYING THE ADVERSE EFFECTS OF ETHANOL-BARBITURATE INTERACTION.
Abstract
THE STUDY INDICATED THAT THE PERMEABILITY OF CELL MEMBRANE AGAINST ETHANOL IS ALTERED BY THE BARBITURATE FOLLOWED BY A HIGHER ETHANOL CONTENT IN THE CELLS AND THAT THIS CHANGE OF DISTRIBUTION MAY BE CONTRIBUTORY TO THE MECHANISMS OF TOXICOLOGICAL INTERACTION BETWEEN ETHANOL AND THE DRUG.
