Abstract
AFTER A BRIEF OUTLINE OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE D.C. BAIL AGENCY, THIS REPORT EXAMINES THE FLOW OF DEFENDANTS THROUGH THE PRETRIAL RELEASE SYSTEM AND DESCRIBES BRIEFLY THE FUNCTIONS OF THE VARIOUS SECTIONS WITHIN THE BAIL AGENCY. INTERVIEWING AND VERIFICATION TECHNIQUES USED BY THE AGENCY ARE NOTED. SUPERVISION ACTIVITIES AND THE ACTIVITIES OF THE FAILURE TO APPEAR UNIT, THE STREET INVESTIGATION UNIT, AND THE PROCESSING UNIT ARE DESCRIBED. FINALLY, PRETRIAL RELEASE CRITERIA USED BY THE AGENCY ARE LISTED....DMC
