Abstract
THE SEMINAR WAS SPONSORED BY THE INSTITUTE OF CRIMINOLOGY, SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA, UNIVERSITY LAW SCHOOL IN SEPTEMBER 1977. IT WAS IN RESPONSE TO A STEADY INCREASE IN ALCOHOL RELATED TRAFFIC FATALITIES, AN INCREASE WHICH LED ONE OFFICIAL TO DESIGNATE SUCH ACCIDENTS AS 'MURDER BY MOTOR CAR.'
