Abstract
The first segment presents various doctors speaking about addiction and how drug use harms the body. One doctor discusses alcoholism and its toll on the human body. This doctor shared his experiences with a young alcoholic patient. A second doctor presents information about cancer caused by tobacco abuse. He shows X-rays of lung cancer and cancer that has spread to the liver and brain. Other dangers of nicotine are also discussed. A third doctor explains the merits of workplace drug-testing policies, including how drug use is related to a lack of personal responsibility. Drug testing procedures are illustrated by a nurse administering a drug test to a client. A fourth doctor discusses the consequences of smokeless tobacco on dental hygiene. The health and psychological consequences of marijuana, cocaine, crack cocaine, ecstasy, and methamphetamine use are all discussed by various doctors during the first half hour of the video. The second half of the video presents interviews with homeless people about the dangers of drug abuse. The interviews chronicle how their abuse of drugs led to their lives on the streets. A doctor is also presented in this section speaking about the effects of drug use on the body. The mental health implications are also discussed in this section. Guest speakers such as Evil Knievel, the Oakland Raiders, and the San Francisco Giants talk about various issues related to drug abuse.
