Abstract
STATISTICS ARE REPORTED FOR SUCH AREAS AS PERSONNEL LOSS AND GAIN, PROMOTIONS, DISCIPLINE AND COMPLAINTS AND COSTS FOR BUILDING REPAIRS. SUMMARIES ARE INCLUDED OF PRESENTED AWARDS, CRIMINAL INJURIES COMPENSATION, AND EMPLOYMENT BENEFITS. THE SECTION ON TRAFFIC DISCUSSES NUMBERS OF DEPARTMENT VEHICLES, TRAFFIC SAFETY PROJECTS, AND TRAFFIC OFFENSES AND ACCIDENTS. A GRAPH OF ROAD TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS RESULTING IN INJURIES FROM 1973-1977 IS INCLUDED. CRIME INCIDENTS, REPORTS, ARRESTS, AND TYPES OF CRIME ARE DISCUSSED. GRAPHS ILLUSTRATE THE INCIDENCE OF CRIME FOR 1977, DETECTION OF TRUE CRIMES, AND RATES FOR VARIOUS TYPES OF CRIMES. THE SECTION DEALING WITH COMMUNICATIONS REPORTS ON TWO MAJOR PROJECTS: THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK IN A NEW HEADQUARTERS, AND THE CONTINUING PROVISION OF VARIOUS MEANS FOR ACCESSING THE COMPUTER.
