This article discusses the rights of drunk drivers, tests used to determine proof of intoxication, and sentencing alternatives for drunk drivers. The author believes the public, the prosecutor, and the defense must work together to solve the problem of the drunk driver.
Abstract
The problem of drunk driving is pervasive in society today. Law enforcement officials need to be given every power, within constitutional limitations, to detect and stop drunk drivers. Future highway safety demands it. (Author abstract modified)
