In presenting opposing viewpoints on drug abuse, this book looks at educational, legal, interdiction, and other approaches to regulate drug use and the extent of the drug abuse problem.
Abstract
The first chapter of the book explores the extent and seriousness of the drug abuse problem and whether heroin and cocaine use has increased. The second chapter looks at how the war on drugs should be waged, with particular reference to prosecution, international measures, and military efforts to stop drug trafficking. The third chapter considers whether drug testing should be employed in the workplace, while the third chapter examines prescription drug regulation. The final chapter discusses ways in which drug abuse can be reduced, including legalization, increased Federal funding for drug treatment programs, community involvement, and military methods.
