This is the official Web site of D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education), whose primary mission is "to provide children with the information and skills they need to live drug-and-violence-free lives."
Abstract
In addition, D.A.R.E. establishes positive relationships between students and law enforcement, teachers, parents, and other community leaders. Horizontal tabs on the home page lead to information relevant to "Kids," "Officers," "Parents & Caregivers," and "Webmasters" (procedure for adding the D.A.R.E. logo to law enforcement Web sites). The vertical tabs lead to information on D.A.R.E., its e-Newsletters, drug information, "Hometown" D.A.R.E., how to start a D.A.R.E., how to donate to D.A.R.E., the international organization, news and bulletins, partners, research/resources, sponsors and supporters, and the Youth Advisory Board. The focus of the home page is information on "What's New!" The updated home page includes information on training conferences and information on various drugs (marijuana and abuse of pharmaceutical drugs) and their effects, as well as the importance of D.A.R.E. Tabs are also provided for participation in D.A.R.E.'s "Scratch and Win" cash lottery. Further, information is provided on D.A.R.E.'s award-winning online driver's education course. A profile is presented of the new D.A.R.E. middle-school curriculum, "Keepin' it Real."
