A total of 113 abstracts describe research on juvenile drug use and abuse, and a series of indexes guide readers to specific research findings presented in the abstracts.
Abstract
The abstracts are presented under the following topics: drug use among high school students and adolescents, drug use among college students and young adults, ethnic minorities and drugs, and studies on marijuana and hallucinogens. Each abstract contains a citation, summary table (a chart with 10 fields that specify various characteristics of the research: drug, age, sex, ethnicity, etc.), study purpose, definitions, findings, and conclusions. The indexes encompass topic, drug, sample type, sex, age, ethnicity, location, methodology, and instruments. Information for each index term includes the abstract number, document title, and numbers corresponding to findings related to the index term. For a similar volume on drug use and abuse among adults, see NCJ 99598.
