This Web site summarizes United States statistics about drug-related crimes, drug law enforcement, courts, and corrections from Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS) and non-BJS sources.
Abstract
It updates the information published in Drugs and Crime Facts, 1994 (NCJ-154043) and will be revised as new information becomes available. The data provide policymakers, criminal justice practitioners, researchers, and the general public with online access to understandable information on various drug law offenses and drug-related law enforcement. The topics covered include drug use and crime; drug arrests, drug seizures, and other drug law enforcement operations; and drug treatment under correctional supervision. Other topics include the drug control budget, juvenile drug use, drug use by the general population, and public opinion about drugs. The data came from the National Crime Victimization Survey, the Law Enforcement Management and Administrative Statistics, correctional programs, the Federal Justice Statistics Program, and the Sourcebook of Criminal Justice Statistics.
