Abstract
In Volume I, eight journal articles focus on the social histories of drug use, controls, and policy. Fourteen articles address epidemiology, treatment, and prevention. Journal articles pertinent to theoretical perspectives on drug issues consider the topics of United States deviancy theory and sociocultural perspectives, Marxist perspectives, feminist perspectives, social democratic perspectives, and critique of various perspectives. Five articles consider recent and future policy controversies regarding the control of drugs. Volume II contains eight journal articles on drug cultures, markets, and distribution, followed by 11 journal articles on drugs and crime. Seven articles pertain to how the criminal justice system has responded to drug abuse, with an emphasis on drug law enforcement. References and/or bibliographies accompany the journal articles.
