Annotation
Intended for audiences of varied ages, this film on drug use and abuse encourages viewers to make their own decisions about the appropriate use of drugs in their lives.
Abstract
The film defines drugs as any chemical which affects the way a body functions and discusses a number of different drugs, including drugs used for medical care, illicit drugs, and alcohol, coffee, and cigarettes. The effects of stimulant and depressant drugs are discussed briefly, and the dangers of drug dependency in using depressant drugs are emphasized. The film suggests that personal problems such as boredom, loneliness, or peer pressure can sometimes lead to drug use and abuse and that such abuse not only fails to solve these problems but may lead to possible injury or death.
