HISTORICAL OVERVIEW OF THE NEGRO IN AMERICA, FROM SLAVERY TO THE PRESENT, WITH AN ATTEMPT TO FIND THE CAUSES FOR HIS VIOLENT AND NONVIOLENT BEHAVIOR TOWARDS WHITES.
Abstract
THE AUTHOR STATES THAT INTERGROUP VIOLENCE SHOULD BE RECOGNIZED AS PRIMARILY A PRODUCT OF SPECIFIC SOCIAL SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONING, WHICH IS A NATURAL PHENOMENON RELATED TO THE NATURE OF MAN AND HIS BASIC HUMAN NEEDS. THE VIOLENCE OCCURS WHEN AN INDIVIDUAL OR GROUP IS DENIED THE OPPORTUNITY TO MEET THEIR BASIC AND MAN-MADE NEEDS. (AUTHOR ABSTRACT)
