TESTS OF INDIVIDUALS OF AVERAGE OR HIGH INTELLIGENCE SENTENCED TO YOUTH IMPRISONMENT SHOWED THAT 21 PERCENT HAD READING COMPREHENSION DIFFICULTIES, 12 HAD POOR WORD COMPREHENSION AND 15 HAD SERIOUS WRITING DIFFICULTIES.
Abstract
BEARING IN MIND THE GROUP'S GENERAL INTELLIGENCE LEVEL, THERE IS REASON TO SUPPOSE THAT INDIVIDUAL KNOWLEDGE COULD BE SUBSTANTIALLY IMPROVED WITH THE USE OF RELATIVELY MODEST RESOURCES. THE TESTS WERE GIVEN TO INMATES OF YOUTH PRISONS IN SWEDEN. --IN SWEDISH, WITH SUMMARY IN ENGLISH
