Abstract
The book is designed to educate and inform anyone involved in the security of premises or the security of themselves or others. It describes the circuit diagrams of several devices that can be used for surveillance. These diagrams have been included for the electronics engineer involved in developing security devices and to show security personnel the types of devices available and how they function. The book also discusses counter-surveillance devices and techniques. The kinds of devices examined include room transmitters, telephone transmitters, switching devices, and video devices. A section regarding microphones includes construction methods for the tube, spike, probe, and pen microphones. The book also includes data on audio amplifiers; using lasers for voice interception; noise filters; relay transmitters; tracking systems and beacons; high-powered transmitters; the "look - no batteries" parasitic transmitter; "Trojan horse" devices and power supplies; automatic camera video record switching devices; snooper detectors; telephone circuits; and self-bugging.
