Several analytical techniques have been employed to measure the concentrations of 22 elements in 15 colourless sheet glass samples of refractive index 1.5160-1.5161. The elemental data have been examined in order to identify the best variables to discriminate the glass samples.
Abstract
The concentrations of Mn, Fe, Mg, Al, Sr and Ba in 232 samples of sheet glass have been determined using inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometry. The samples were selected as representative of ten narrow ranges of refractive index within the region 1.5150-1.5210. The elemental data have been used to assess the overall discrimination attainable by the six-element analysis, for each of the ten groups of sheet glass samples. (Publisher abstract)
