SWITZERLAND AND CAMEROON COOPERATED IN SETTING UP A CENTER FOR TRAINING CAMEROONIAN EDUCATIONAL WORKERS TO DEAL WITH THE PROBLEMS OF MIGRANT YOUTH.
Abstract
THE COMPLETE COURSE OF STUDIES IS DIVIDED INTO FOUR FULL YEARS WHICH ARE TAKEN IN RESIDENCY. THE FIRST AND SECOND YEARS COVER A COMMON COURSE OF GENERAL BASIC TRAINING. IN THE THIRD YEAR, THE STUDENT UNDERTAKES SPECIALIZED STUDIES TO BECOME EITHER AN EDUCATIONAL OR A SOCIAL WORKER. THE FOURTH YEAR CONSISTS OF EXTENDED PRACTICAL TRAINING IN THE STUDENTS SPECIALTY. THE COST OF THE TRAINING IS GREAT, BUT CONSIDERING THE INTENDED LEVEL OF STUDIES, AND THE INTENTIONALLY SMALL NUMBER OF STUDENTS PER CLASS, THE ANNUAL COST PER STUDENT IS WITHIN THE LIMITS NORMALLY ACCEPTED FOR THIS TYPE OF EXPERIMENT.
