THE COSTS OF CRIMINALITY MAY BE DETERMINED, AND EFFORTS MADE TO REACH AN OPTIMUM LEVEL OF CRIME CONTROL WHERE THE COST OF DETERRENCE EQUALS THE COST OF THE POTENTIAL DAMAGES OF THOSE CRIMES. VICTIMOLOGY AND PENOLOGY ARE OTHER RESEARCH AREAS DISCUSSED.
