PROJECT TO DEVELOP GUIDELINES TO AID INVESTIGATORS IN INITIAL AND FOLLOWUP INVESTIGATIONS AND TO DEVELOP AN EVALUATION METHODOLOGY (CASE SELECTION FOR FOLLOWUP).
Abstract
THIS VOLUME DISCUSSES THE RESULTS OF MULTIPLE TASKS UNDERTAKEN IN THE BURGLARY INVESTIGATION PROJECT PERFORMED FOR SIX ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES. THESE RESULTS ARE BASED UPON THE FINDINGS OF THE INITIAL PHASE OF THE STUDY, WHICH REVEALED THE DESIRABILITY OF IMPLEMENTING CERTAIN INVESTIGATIVE PROCEDURAL CHANGES. THE NEED WAS ALSO SHOWN FOR FIELD TESTING TO EVALUATE THE ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS OF INFORMATION CRITICAL TO THE INVESTIGATORY AND PROSECUTORY PROCESSES. (AUTHOR ABSTRACT MODIFIED) (SEE NCJ-010646, NCJ-010648).
