Abstract
Individual papers conclude that no universal theoretical framework exists that successfully identifies and predicts processes of development that have a bearing on criminal behavior or reactions to it, examine assumptions and methodological limitations of criminological research on the subject, and discuss the internationalization of crime. Additional papers focus on drug abuse and drug trafficking, the concept of blocked opportunities and marginalization, the roles of formal and informal control, and the results of United Nations meetings on crime prevention and corrections.
