This study evaluated four commercial silica-based extraction chemistries using serum and mock forensic samples to determine which automatable method is best suited to isolate DNA from low quantity samples.

Abstract

Data from quantitative polymerase chain reaction assays identified the PrepFiler™ Forensic DNA Extraction kit as the superior extraction method with average yields equal to or better than those obtained with organic and other commercial silica-based methods tested. (publisher abstract modified)
