THIS REPORT PRESENTS THE RESULTS OF A PROJECT TO INVESTIGATE CURRENT EVALUATION METHODOLOGIES AS THEY APPLY TO CRIMINAL JUSTICE RESEARCH AND PROGRAM ASSESSMENT.
Abstract
THE PROJECT WAS CONDUCTED BY OHIO'S DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMIC AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT TO DETERMINE THE GENERAL STATE OF THE ART IN EVALUATION AND TO DELINEATE THE CRITICAL ISSUES INVOLVED BY EXAMINING A BROAD RANGE OF SCIENTIFIC DISCIPLINES. ALTERNATIVE STRATEGIES FOR THE FUTURE DEVELOPMENT OF EVALUATION RESEARCH ARE OUTLINED AS ARE THE FOUNDATIONS FOR THE FORMULATION OF A GENERAL THEORY OF EVALUATION. (AUTHOR ABSTRACT MODIFIED)
