REPORT ON A SYMPOSIUM AT WHICH EVALUATORS FROM THIRTEEN STATE PLANNING AGENCIES (SPA'S) DISCUSSED THE ROLES, FUNCTIONS, AND PROBLEMS OF THE EVALUATOR AND DIFFICULTIES IN EVALUATING LEAA PROJECTS ON A STATE-WIDE BASIS.
Abstract
NOTES ON MAJOR PRESENTATIONS ARE PROVIDED. MAJOR POINTS OF AGREEMENT AMONG PARTICIPANTS ARE SUMMARIZED. THE REPORT CONCLUDES THAT THE SYMPOSIUM PROVIDED A MUCH NEEDED MEDIUM FOR EXCHANGE OF INFORMATION REGARDING CURRENT EVALUATION METHODS AND PROGRAMS, OPENED CHANNELS OF COMMUNICATION AMONG INDIVIDUAL EVALUATORS, AND WOULD BE A VALUABLE VEHICLE FOR INFORMATION EXCHANGE IF REPEATED YEARLY.
