Abstract
EXPERIENCE UNITS CONSIST OF AN INTRODUCTION, LONG-RANGE AND SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES, ACTIVITIES IN A RANGE OF SUBJECT AREAS, A LIST OF SOURCE MATERIALS AND A BIBLIOGRAPHY. A SAMPLE UNIT, 'FISHING AROUND THE WORLD,' IS PROVIDED AS A MODEL. THE CASE STUDY RESULTS OF AN ARIZONA YOUTH CORRECTIONAL PROGRAM USING SUCH UNITS SHOWS THEM AS BOTH FEASIBLE AND SUCCESSFUL. WHILE GRADE LEVEL SCORES INCREASED, THE PROGRAM'S SUCCESS IN RESTORING AN INDIVIDUAL'S CONFIDENCE IN HIS CAPABILITIES IS SEEN AS THE GREATEST CONTRIBUTION OF THIS METHOD.
