DISCUSSION OF THE THREE MAJOR BEHAVIOR MODIFICATION MODELS DEVELOPED DURING PHASE FOUR - THE MOUNT MEIGS PROJECT, THE TUSCALOOSA PROJECT, AND THE WORK RELEASE EVALUATION PROJECT.
Abstract
THE MOUNT MEIGS PROJECT INVOLVES THE USE OF A TOKEN ECONOMY AND CONTINGENCY CONTRACTING TO PROVIDE A MORE EFFECTIVE TREATMENT PROGRAM AT THE ALABAMA INDUSTRIAL SCHOOL FOR DELINQUENT BOYS. THE TUSCALOOSA PROJECT IS DEVELOPING A COMMUNITY MANPOWER MODEL FOR THE YOUNG OFFENDER ON PROBATION OR PAROLE. DURING PHASE FOUR, A DEMOGRAPHIC STUDY OF THE TARGET POPULATION WAS COMPLETED AND THE LAB BEGAN DEVELOPING LIAISON AND WORKING COMMUNICATION CHANNELS WITH COMMUNITY AGENCIES. THE THIRD COMPONENT OF PHASE FOUR STUDY IS THE WORK RELEASE EVALUATION PROJECT. THE EVALUATION IS DESIGNED TO MEASURE THE LONG-RANGE EFFECTS OF WORK RELEASE PARTICIPATION ON POSTRELEASE ADJUSTMENT. THE STUDY DESIGN AND DATA TRENDS ARE DESCRIBED. THE APPENDIXES INCLUDE THE FOLLOW-UP FORM FOR DISCHARGED ALABAMA INDUSTRIAL SCHOOL STUDENTS, THE REVISED OPINION SURVEY FORM, AND SELECTED MATERIALS FROM THE CONTINGENCY CONTRACTING WORKSHOPS.
