Issues concerning medicolegal witnesses in the United States, France, England, West Germany, and Japan are addressed.
Abstract
These issues include partisanship of the expert witness and the expert witness and the hearsay rule. Suggestions for solving problems related to these issues in the particular countries are given. Finally, the Japanese criminal justice system's use of expert witnesses is compared to those mentioned above. (Author abstract modified)
