Abstract
THE REPORTS IN THIS VOLUME DISCUSS A 1967 SURVEY OF THREE AFTER-CARE UNITS IN LONDON, MANCHESTER, AND LIVERPOOL, AFTER-CARE HOSTELS RECEIVING A HOME OFFICE GRANT, AND ST. MARTIN OF TOURS HOUSE, A HALF-WAY HOUSE IN NORTH LONDON. THE SURVEY FOCUSES ON THE AGENCIES THE GOALS, ORGANIZATION, AND MANNER IN WHICH THIS AFFECTED DELIVERY OF SERVICE - RATHER THAN ON THE CLIENTS. THE STUDY EXAMINES THE METHOD OF ACQUIRING CASES, THE TYPES OF CLIENTS, SERVICES OFFERED, COMMUNITY RESOURCES AVAILABLE, OFFICER-CLIENT RELATIONSHIP, OVERALL STRUCTURAL PROBLEMS, AND CONTROL IN AFTER-CARE HOSTELS.
