Abstract
THE INTRODUCTION INCLUDES A DEFINITION OF THE CAREER AREA, COURSE OBJECTIVES, COURSE STRATEGIES, A SUGGESTED TIME TABLE, AND CAREERS EXPLORED IN THE COURSE. THE EXPLORATION ACTIVITIES, ORGANIZED ACCORDING TO OBJECTIVES, ACTIVITIES, AND RESOURCES, EXAMINE THE CAREERS OF: PATROLMAN, POLICEWOMAN, POLICE DETECTIVES, CRASH SQUAD PATROLMAN, POLICE LABORATORY SPECIALIST, VICE SQUAD, PARK POLICE, AND SPECIAL AGENT (FBI). TEACHING STRATEGIES INCLUDE A STUDY OF THE STUDENT ATTITUDES TOWARD AUTHORITY AND LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES, INTERVIEWS, A SELF-ANALYSIS QUIZ, DISCUSSION, INDIVIDUAL AND GROUP WORK, SMALL GROUP EXPLORATION TRIPS AND SELF-EVALUATION.
