Abstract
In the explosives incidents analysis, statistics are tabulated by type of incident, incidents by category by State, total explosives incidents by State, bombing and incendiary incidents by State, total criminal bombing incidents, and analysis of bombings by target and motive. Other analyses examine the types of containers and fillers used in destructive devices, pipe bomb incidents, accidental explosions, and other explosives incidents. Trends are tracked for the period between 1988 and 1992. The second section presents statistics on the types and quantities of explosives and detonators stolen and recovered during the same time period. The report also discusses significant explosives and arson investigations carried out by ATF and describes ATF support programs including the National Response Team, International Response Team, forensic laboratory support, computerized support, explosives technology support, explosives-detecting canines, criminal investigative analysis, and explosives/arson training. 22 tables and 7 figures
