BIBLIOGRAPHY OF THE GENETIC INQUIRY INTO THE XYY CHROMOSOMAL ABNORMALITY AND ITS RELATION TO DEVIANT SOCIAL BEHAVIOR.
Abstract
CHROMOSOMAL ABNORMALITY HAS NOT BEEN ACCEPTED BY THE COURTS AS A GROUND FOR ALLOWING THE PLEA OF UNFITNESS TO STAND TRIAL, OR THE DEFENSE OF INSANITY. VERY LITTLE SYSTEMATIC KNOWLEDGE HAS YET BEEN ACQUIRED REGARDING EITHER THE PHYSIOLOGICAL OR BEHAVIORAL CHARACTERISTICS OF MEN WITH AN EXTRA Y CHROMOSOME COMPLEMENT. THERE ARE SO MANY UNKNOWN FACTORS THAT ALL RESEARCH FINDINGS MUST BE CONSIDERED WITH CIRCUMSPECTION. BIBLIOGRAPHICAL LISTING OF THE LEADING ARTICLES ATTEMPTING TO IDENTIFY THE PHYSIOLOGICAL, BIOCHEMICAL, PSYCHIATRIC, AND CRIMINOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF XYY INDIVIDUALS, AS WELL AS AN EXPLORATION OF THE LEGAL, MORAL, OR ETHICAL IMPLICATIONS OF THE EXISTENCE OF A RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ABNORMALITY AND DEVIANT BEHAVIOR. 190 REFERENCES.
