The papers presented at this symposium deal with developments in family and juvenile courts, describe current research, and recommend various reform measures.
Abstract
Individual authors call for judicial process reform and advocacy in civil child maltreatment cases, court-system interventions against family violence, and improved integration among the State court system in their handling of family and child case proceedings. The authors unanimously suggest that reform measures must go beyond current, conventional thinking to encompass innovations in coordinating all relevant components of the criminal justice system in order to better serve and protect the rights of children and their families.
