RESULTS OF A STUDY OF 414 DELINQUENCY MALES ARRESTED IN METROPOLITAN TEL AVIV IN 1960 FOUR YEARS AFTER ARREST TO STUDY THE RELATIONSHIP OF HOME ENVIRONMENT TO DELINQUENCY.
Abstract
THE STUDY REVEALED NEITHER INTERACTION BETWEEN FAMILY RELATIONSHIPS AND SOCIAL CLASS. THIS INDICATED TO THE AUTHOR THAT ISRAEL'S SOCIAL CONDITIONS RENDER THE FAMILY A RELATIVELY LESS IMPORTANT ROLE AS A CRIMINOGENIC AGENT AND THAT FAMILY LIFE HAS PREVIOUSLY BEEN IDEALIZED, WITH A ROLE EXAGGERATED DUE TO THE THEORETICIANS' VALUE BIAS.
