This document describes the Family Solutions Program (FSP) implemented by the Georgia Children and Youth Coordinating Council to help juvenile first offenders and their families find solutions that could help prevent repeat offending.
Abstract
FSP participants meet one evening each week for 10 weeks. The program aims to promote educational success, discover better ways for family members to communicate with each other, help parents learn parenting skills, help youth learn coping and life skills, and help families discover and use community-based resources. This document describes the characteristics of FSP juvenile offenders and their families, FSP worksheets, an evaluation of the FSP, and articles from the FSP newsletter.
