Abstract
Nearly 9 in 10 cases involved an arrest for assault, breach of peace, or disorderly conduct. Most victims were female, most incidents involved intimate partners, and children were present or directly involved in about 46 percent of the incidents. Physical injury occurred in two-thirds of the arrest incidents; 2.4 percent of the injuries were serious and 65 percent were minor. While 72.4 percent of the violent incidents involved hands, feet, or other physical force, 14 percent involved a weapon. Tables and figures.
