Abstract
This issue contains two feature articles: 1) False Allegations of Adult Crimes which examines how investigators should learn to detect offenses which waste law enforcement resources and impact communities; and 2) Qualified Immunity which provides information on important legal protections for officers in the performance of their duties. Department articles include: 1) Falling Prey to Posturing which examines how to challenge a dominant group opinion tactfully; 2) Redefining Police Power which provides techniques for police on how to use their influence appropriately, avoid common mistakes, and succeed on the job; 3) Sexual Assault Case which provides a case summary of a sexual assault in Colorado; 4) The Attitudes of Police Managers Toward Intelligence-Led Policing (ILP) which discusses the ILP policing strategy that appears to improve police response time; 5) Deployment of Spike Strips which discusses the safe technical deployment of tire deflation devices; and 6) J-U-S-T-I-C-E which is a recap of a notable speech given by FBI Assistant Special Agent in Charge G.B Jones at a 2011 graduation ceremony in Milwaukee, WI.
