A survey conducted in two high and low crime neighborhoods of Montreal, Quebec, Canada analyzed variations in the perceived extensiveness of crime areas and "hot spots" within and across neighborhoods.
Abstract
The research also explored the theoretical usefulness of separately investigating two sets of issues: (1) the relevance of fear of crime as a personal concern and (2) the perceived geographical extensiveness of feared areas. Tables, notes, and 28 references (Author abstract modified)
