This research explores the relationship between fear of crime and residential location.
Abstract
A sample of three thousand residents of North Carolina was used. Results of the study indicate that when gender, race, age, education, and income are controlled, rural residents have a significantly lower fear of crime than urban residents. Further research on the implication of these findings is suggested. 4 tables and 32 references. (Author abstract modified)
