REVIEW OF THIS PROGRAM WHICH PROVIDES FULL-TIME ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICERS TO HANDLE PROBLEMS OF FEDERAL COURT MANAGEMENT.
Abstract
THE HISTORY BEHIND THE PASSAGE OF THE 1971 CIRCUIT EXECUTIVE ACT IS REVIEWED AND THE CERTIFICATION OF THE FIRST CIRCUIT EXECUTIVES IS DESCRIBED. THE DUTIES OF THE CIRCUIT EXECUTIVES INCLUDE SERVING AS THE ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT TO THE CHIEF JUDGE OF THE CIRCUIT AND TO THE JUDICIAL COUNCIL AND ACTING AS A LIAISON BETWEEN THE ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICE AND THE COUNCIL. IN ADDITION, CIRCUIT EXECUTIVES HAVE BECOME INVOLVED WITH CASE FLOW MANAGEMENT AND IMPROVEMENT AND HAVE TAKEN OVER MUCH OF THE RESPONSIBILITY FOR PLANNING THE ANNUAL CIRCUIT JUDICIAL CONFERENCES.
